About Our Church

We meet here on Sunday Mornings and Tuesday Evenings

About Us

We meet as a church on Sunday at 9 am at the Wickenburg Seventh Day Adventist church building 970 N Tegner in Wickenburg, AZ.   On the first Sunday of the month everyone joins together for family worship, a special missions emphasis, and communion.  Please come, bring the family and join with us on Sundays.

We also meet for Bible Study on Tuesday evenings at 6 pm in the church multipurpose room and have a great in depth study each week. The weekly Bible Study is attended by people from many of the different churches in the Wickenburg area.  We welcome all to come to this Bible Study.

Who We Are

We are a church that grew out of a home Bible Study.  We are probably most known for our welcoming fellowship and strong Bible teaching.   Pastor Rod is an excellent Bible teacher. People attend from many of the towns surrounding Wickenburg, including some from the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Our church has an unusual passion for overseas missions and for many years has given a very large percentage of our budget for God's ongoing work around the world.

Our History

In about 2000, Tom Thomas was not well and house bound, he asked his long time close friend and Pastor, Rev. Rodney Hackett to come out and hold a weekly Bible Study in his home.  Others were invited to attend.  Over a period of time this grew so that his home could not accommodate all that wanted to attend.  This resulted in a move to a larger venue. Over the years the Bible Study was moved several times to larger facilities.   About 13 years ago some of the Bible Study members talked to Pastor Rod about starting Sunday services.  Pastor Rod and Jan sought God's direction and felt that God would be pleased to have them begin Sunday services.  The name Wickenburg Bible Fellowship was chosen as a name for the church.  This change brought about significant growth and for about 9 years Rod pastored the church while working full time for one of Wickenburg's treatment centers.  In early 2015 Pastor Rod felt God would have him leave his full time job and become the church's full time pastor.  God has been blessing that effort.

What We Believe

I.  We Believe There is Only One True God - Deuteronomy 6:4
          A.  That as God He is known by His attributes and nature.
                  *  He is Eternal - Psalms 90:2
                  *  He is Omnipotent - All Powerful
                  *  He is Omnipresent - Everywhere Present
                  *  He is Omniscient - All Knowing
                  *  He is Holy - Without Sin or Fault  - Leviticus 20:7
                  *  He is Love - 1 John 4:8,16
          B.  God has chosen to reveal himself to humanity in three persons God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  These three compose the Trinity or the Triune Godhead Deuteronomy 6:4; John 10:30,33; John 14:16, 18, 23.
          C.  God the Father in union with the Son and Holy Spirit designed and created the heavens and the earth as taught in Genesis Chapters 1 and 2.  As Creator He is Sovereign over all His creation.

II.  We Believe Jesus to Be the Only Begotten Son of God
          A.  That He is Truly God and therefore divine.
          B.  That He became the incarnate Son of God - Jesus came in the flesh to earth to redeem mankind from their sin.
          C.  Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit:
                  *  Born of a Woman
                  *  Lived a sinless Life
                  *  Died on the Cross of Calvary
                  *  Was Buried in a Tomb
                  *  On the third day He rose again
                  *  Jesus has ascended to the Father and now sits on His Right Side.
         D.  By His Sinless Life and His death on the cross He paid in full for the sins of humanity and has purchased our pardon and peace with God.

III.  We Believe All Have Sinned
         A.  Though God created humanity sinless and Holy, yet through Adam's disobedience sin and death entered into this world.
         B.  By the act of Adam and Eve every human is born with a sin nature and is therefore a sinner and needs salvation.

IV.  We Believe in a Personal Salvation and Forgiveness of Sin.
         A.  Salvation is available for everyone who believes in Jesus Christ and has repented of their sins.
         B.  Salvation is based upon God's grace and is by faith in Christ alone.  One cannot earn salvation by goodness or doing good work.

V.  We Believe in The Bible - God's Holy Word
         A.  We believe the Bible to be the literal word of God, inspired by Him - God Breathed II Timothy 3:16,17.
         B.  We believe the Bible to be inerrant and as such the final authority on all matters of life and faith.
         C.  We believe the Word to be a living work that continues to search our hearts and give us  direction for our life.  It is the source of all truth Hebrews 4:12

VI.  We Believe in the Universal Church - The Spiritual Body of Christ
        A.  Christ has ordained it and put it into operation at Pentecost - Acts 1,2.
        B.  Christ meant the Church to be a place where believers would gather together to worship Him, pray, and to be encouraged and enriched by His Word.
        C.  The Church's Mission is to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature".  It is the Church's God given duty to present the message of Jesus to all that have never heard. This Good News is that Jesus saves all who believe in Him - Mark 16:15,16; Acts 1:8.

VII.  We Believe in the Power of Prayer
        A.  The Believer has been both invited and commanded to pray by Christ and the Word of God.
        B.  Prayer is the vehicle of knowing the Mind and Heart of God - talking to Him.
        C.  Prayer is the means by which God has chosen to supply all our needs.
        D.  Ask - Seek - Knock  - Matthew 7:6,7

VIII.  We Believe in the Blessed Hope
        A.  The promise of Jesus Christ and God's Word that if Jesus would go to the Father that He would one day return for his own is the Blessed Hope - John 14:1-4; 1 John3:3.
        B.  It is our belief that Christ is retuning for His bride - the Church - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.  The Word tells us one day in the twinkling of an eye we will all be caught up together with Him in the air.  Some refer to this time as the rapture.
        C.  In association with this coming of Christ is the Second Coming of the Lord in Revelation 19.  This is the time when Christ will return to earth with the heavenly armies to set up His Kingdom on Earth.
        D.  At this event Christ shall rule for 1,000 years.  Jerusalem and Israel shall fully be restored.  Satan will be bound for 1,000 years.

IX.  We Believe in Eternal Judgment for All
         A.  The Bible tells us that every believer's works will be tried of the Lord to see what sort it is, but the individual has eternal life.  The believer's judgment determines our rewards not our destiny.  This is the Judgment Seat of Christ.
         B.  For all those who die in their sins or refuse God's offer of Grace they will stand before God at the Great White Throne of judgment Revelation 20:11-15.
         C.  All those judged here shall take their place in the Lake of Fire, everlasting damnation - Hell.
         D.  They will be judged so because their names were not found written in the Book of Life.

X.  We Believe in Heaven - Revelation 21
         A.  Heaven is the Place that Jesus has prepared for those that believe in Him.
         B.  Heaven is the place of God's Throne and His Glory.
         C.  It is a place of eternal blessing and joy - no tears, no pain, no sorrow, no death and no crying.
